Great cop: Great Guy.

I was a young TDC at Kilburn in the late 60's. Mike was the First Class Sergeant and the senior CID officer. In those days we worked long hours and Kilburn was busy. A late turn shift was 9am to 10pm. Sport was also encouraged in those days and 'Q' Division had a very useful rugby team.  It was often difficult to get away to play on a Wednesday afternoon and a few of us at Kilburn played the game. Mike would always say 'just go.' He would often cover the office by himself and deal with everything that came in that afternoon. His only stipulation was that if we were late turn we got back by 6pm. We never let him down. He was a great cop, highly respected, and a wonderful man to work for. He always had our back. As a young detective that was very important because we were on a big learning curve. R.I.P. Mick.
